All costs listed below are based on spring 2002 rates and are subject to change without notice.
The estimated cost per semester (there are two semesters in an academic year) for a full-time student attending The University of Alabama is as follows:
Full-time enrollment for undergraduate students is 12-18 hours per regular semester. An overload fee is assessed for each credit hour in excess of the full-time schedule; the charge per credit hour is $132.00 for undergraduate residents and $374.00 for undergraduate nonresidents.
In addition to the costs listed below, course-related laboratory fees and personal expenses, which will vary from student to student, should be considered. Student Financial Aid makes financial aid awards based on an estimated budget (including personal expenses) of $5,955.00 per semester for Alabama residents and $8,941.00 per semester for out-of-state students.
