POR 101 Elementary Portuguese I. Three hours.

Contemporary Portuguese — speaking, reading, and writing. Course involves self-instructional approach with tapes and texts in the Critical Languages Center. Each student meets three hours per week with a tutor. This course is the first semester of college-level study in Portuguese. Offered each semester.

POR 102 Elementary Portuguese II. Four hours.

Prerequisite: POR 101 or equivalent.
