DEGREES AND PROGRAMS OFFERED

Human environmental sciences programs are offered at both the baccalaureate and master's levels. Upon successful completion of the requirements established for each curriculum, the appropriate degree may be conferred. Each student selects a major from the following curricula:

To earn a second bachelor's degree in the College, a student must complete in residence in the College of Human Environmental Sciences, with a grade average of "C" (2.00 GPA) or better, a minimum of 32 hours beyond the hours required for the first degree. The work must be completed in accordance with all other University and College regulations.

Graduate programs. The College of Human Environmental Sciences offers programs leading to the master of science in human environmental sciences degree with one of the following concentrations: general studies; consumer sciences; clothing, textiles, and interior design; food and nutrition; or human development and family studies. In addition, the master of arts in health studies is available. A concentration in human development is also offered through the Ph.D. program in educational psychology. In addition, a student can earn a Ph.D. specializing in health education and health promotion. These programs are offered through the University of Alabama Graduate School.
