COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING
Academic Achievement Awards and Scholarships
Scholarships and Assistantships
Students find many opportunities for financial aid in the College of Engineering, which awards scholarships to eligible students enrolled in its programs. Awards are made on an annual basis, usually payable in equal installments at the beginning of each regular semester. They vary in kind and amount from year to year. During a typical year, the College awards as many as 200 scholarships drawn from dozens of sources, including organizations, corporations, and private donors. The number of scholarships varies considerably from year to year, but many are renewable if the recipients maintain acceptable grades.
In addition to demonstrating academic achievement and, for some scholarships, financial need, a recipient may have to satisfy other criteria specified by the scholarship sponsor. Each applicant must be either a student in good standing enrolled in a College of Engineering program, or an entering student who has applied for admission to the University. In all cases, GPA (or ACT or SAT scores for entering freshmen), overall performance, and class rank are considered.
By filing one application, a student will be considered for all College of Engineering scholarships for which he or she is eligible. The deadline for filing the application is December 1.
